JOB SUBSTITUTE RECRUITMENT ON CALL AS
NEEDEDSubstitute work is on-call and as-needed and there are no guaranteed hours as a substitute. As a substitute, we ask that you make yourself available no less than three (3) days per week and that you work within your stated availability.

($30.94/HR)Under the general direction of an assigned school Administrator, participates in a wide variety of security services at District high schools and other sites, ensuring the safety of persons and property of various kinds, maintaining order and enforcing rules and regulations governing student conduct and serving as liaison between site administrators, police and other security staff assigned to that location.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and experience and two years of experience working with youth in a structured, institutional environment. Supplemental course work in basic law enforcement. Experience working with at-risk youth is highly desirable.

The following must be attached to your application: Campus Security Certification (24-hour course) in accordance with Education Code 38001.5Completion of PC 832 training is required within six (6) months of employmentValid First Aid and CPR Certification A valid California Drivers LicenseCurrent DMV printout Failure to attach the required documents will result in your application being disqualified. Once your application has been submitted, you will no longer be able to upload any additional documents.

Basic interests, attitudes and emotional development of adolescentsAdolescent behavior and group dynamics and supervision California laws relating to minors including laws of search, seizure and evidenceSimple record-keeping and report writing procedures English usage including proper spelling, grammar and punctuation Techniques used to change personal behavior and obtain compliance from others Education Code sections related to the orderly conduct of school Interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy Physical manifestations of alcohol and drug intoxication Basic crowd and traffic control methodsInterpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy Security measures and devices Oral communication skills Basic First Aid and CPR procedures
ABILITY TO
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, law enforcement agencies and the communityAssure student compliance with school and district policies and regulations Analyze situations, exercise sound judgement, and take effective action Monitor behavior and activities of students and non-students in a wide variety of situations Detect and recognize illegal activities, weapons, and controlled substances Analyze potentially dangerous situations, use good judgment and take appropriate actionLearn, interpret and apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures Stay current with all laws and regulations relating to essential duties including but not limited to: topic specific seminars, training and conferences Speak clearly and logically and operate communication devices and other equipment Understand and carry out oral and written directions, regulations and procedures Use physical restraint to break up fights and for self protection purposes Maintain sensitivity, objectivity and cultural awareness Observe and retain names, faces, and details of events Pursue, apprehend and constrain persons,attend refresher training at District expense, sit and drive in a vehicle.
