Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking energetic, vigilant, and customer-service-oriented Event Security Officers to help ensure the safety and smooth operation of a beloved annual family event. As an integral part of the event security team, you will help maintain a secure environment, manage access control, assist with guest screening, and respond appropriately to incidents. Your awareness, professionalism, and commitment to safety will help create a positive experience for attendees, employees, and vendors. This is a paid event assignment requiring a current California Guard Card. Duties and Responsibilities Monitor the event premises through physical patrols and observation to identify suspicious activity, safety hazards, unauthorized access, or potential security breaches. Staff access-control and screening points using weapons-detection equipment, bag-search procedures, radios, and other communication tools. Assist in safely reuniting separated children with their parents or guardians according to established event procedures. Respond promptly to emergencies by following established emergency-response and communication procedures. Contact or assist emergency personnel and provide first aid, CPR, or AED assistance only when appropriately trained and certified. Use professional conflict-management and de-escalation techniques to resolve disputes peacefully and maintain a safe environment. Maintain situational awareness and avoid unnecessary physical intervention. Request assistance from event management, Armida management, emergency personnel, or law enforcement when appropriate. Write clear, detailed, and timely incident reports documenting security concerns, disturbances, accidents, injuries, or other reportable events. Notify authorized event management and Armida management of significant incidents or safety concerns as soon as it is safe and practical. Remain at your assigned post unless properly relieved or authorized to leave, except in an immediate safety emergency. Assist with moving, setting up, or dismantling security equipment and barriers, as assigned. Provide professional and courteous assistance to attendees, employees, and vendors. Follow all company policies, event procedures, safety requirements, post orders, and instructions from authorized supervisors. Qualifications and Skills A current and valid California Guard Card is required. Previous event-security, access-control, crowd-management, or related security experience is preferred. First aid, CPR, or AED certification is helpful but not required. Strong observation, communication, conflict-management, and de-escalation skills. Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports with attention to detail. Excellent customer-service skills and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor during crowded or high-pressure situations. Ability to follow emergency procedures, post orders, and applicable security requirements. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Employees are expected to report for and complete all accepted shifts unless properly excused. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely perform the physical duties of the assignment, with or without reasonable accommodation. Armida provides security and event staffing throughout the Bay Area. Employees may have opportunities to work additional locations, events, and schedules based on availability, qualifications, and business needs. Rates may vary by assignment. This allows candidates to join Armida as security officers rather than tying their entire employment to this one account.
