$20.66 - $20.66 /hour (Starting pay within the posted range will be based on job-related experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and other lawful factors.)Employment Type:

The Unarmed Security Officer maintains a safe environment for clients, employees, and visitors by enforcing security policies and procedures. This position requires vigilance, exercising sound judgment, and responding to threats professionally, including promptly contacting law enforcement when an armed response is required. Officers conduct patrols, monitor surveillance and access control, respond to alarms and emergencies, maintain detailed logs, and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary. This position is designated a Safety Sensitive Function under Company policy. Strong alertness, integrity, and composure under pressure are essential. No individual state security license is required in Colorado; officers must comply with all applicable Company and client site training requirements and regulations.Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an assigned shift.
- Customer service experience and a professional, service-oriented approach.
- Valid driver's license and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) approved under SEI's Authorized Driver Policy, if the assigned post requires operating a Company or client vehicle. Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of the facility and grounds to identify, deter, and report safety and security concerns.
- Monitor access control points, verifying employee, visitor, and contractor identification and credentials.
- Enforce site security procedures in accordance with written Post Instructions.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents promptly and per established protocol.
- Maintain accurate daily activity, observation, and incident logs.
- Write clear, accurate, and timely incident and activity reports, and communicate information effectively by two-way radio, telephone, and in person.
- Perform routine post tasks including securing doors, monitoring CCTV cameras, and operating electronic security systems.
- Assist employees and visitors, answering questions and resolving concerns professionally.
- Enforce SEI and client policies governing smoking, loitering, and parking.
- Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and professional appearance at all times.
Required Skills & AbilitiesMinimum:
- Proven ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Availability for weekend, holiday, and rotating shift coverage as scheduled.
- Strong situational awareness, observation skills, and attention to detail.
- Sound judgment and de-escalation skills, remaining calm and decisive during critical incidents.
- Basic computer skills, including use of a tablet or mobile device for reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear, professional interaction with employees, visitors, client personnel, and responding law enforcement or emergency responders.
Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation (subject to change based on client-specific needs):
- Stand at least 1 hour without support or break.
- Sit at least 1 hour without break.
- Walk at least ½ mile without stopping.
- Operate security technology with sufficient manual dexterity to use a computer, tablet, radio, keypad, and access control equipment, and view monitors, screens, and written reports with or without corrective lenses.
Education & Experience Minimum:
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- 1+ year of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.
