We are looking for applicants who can maintain a strong security presence, communicate effectively, write clear reports, and respond appropriately in real-world situations. This is not a position for someone looking to simply fill a post. Our Operators are expected to be alert, professional, accountable, and capable of representing DC Security in a manner that reflects positively on the company and our clients. Some assignments require the use of a company vehicle, so a valid driver's license is required . What You Will Do Maintain a professional and visible security presence Conduct foot patrols and vehicle patrols as assigned Monitor assigned properties and work sites for safety and security concerns Control access to buildings, grounds, and restricted areas Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, incidents, and policy violations Complete accurate, timely, and professional reports and activity logs Respond appropriately to disturbances, alarms, emergencies, and calls for service Operate a company vehicle when required by the assignment Provide professional customer service to clients, staff, visitors, tenants, and the public Follow post orders, company policies, and chain of command Maintain uniform, equipment, and appearance standards Assist with special assignments, temporary coverage, and event staffing as needed Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license required Must be eligible to operate a company vehicle under company standards Ability to pass background screening and job-related screening requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good judgment, reliability, and attention to detail Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or rapidly changing situations Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events Preferred Background Experience in the following areas is helpful, but not required: Private security Corrections Law enforcement Military Customer service Public-facing safety or security roles Physical Requirements Applicants must demonstrate sufficient mobility, strength, endurance, and finger dexterity to safely perform the essential duties of the position. Duties may require standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, and responding quickly to dynamic situations. Applicants must be able to complete the following: 15 push-ups within 2 minutes 20 squats within 2 minutes Walk one-half mile within 10 minutes Complete 40 step-ups within 2 minutes Demonstrate adequate finger dexterity to safely handle equipment and perform fine motor tasks Employees must be able to perform these functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, in order to perform the essential duties of the position.
