Florida Licensed Armed Security Agency Armed Security Officer - School Post Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | $20.00/hour (W-2) Position Summary YMW Security LLC is seeking a licensed Armed Security Officer to provide on-site protection at a school campus. This is a full-time, outdoor post responsible for access control, perimeter observation, and the safety of students, staff, and visitors. The officer serves as a visible deterrent and a calm, professional first responder to any security concern on site. Schedule & Compensation Full-time, 40 hours per week. $20.00 per hour, paid as a W-2 employee. Outdoor post - the officer is stationed and patrols outdoors throughout the shift in all weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Maintain a visible, professional armed presence at assigned exterior posts and access points. Screen and verify visitors, vehicles, and deliveries before entry to campus. Monitor arrival and dismissal periods, controlling foot and vehicle traffic for student safety. Conduct regular perimeter patrols and observe for suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity. Control and secure gates, entrances, and parking areas during operating hours. Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies, and coordinate with school staff and law enforcement. Enforce campus access and weapons policies, denying entry to non-compliant individuals. Maintain a daily activity log and complete incident reports for any unusual occurrence. Use force only as a last resort, in accordance with Florida law and YMW Security policy. Requirements Active Florida Class D Security Officer license. Active Florida Class G Statewide Firearm license. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to stand, walk, and patrol outdoors for extended periods in varying weather. Professional appearance and demeanor, with strong situational awareness. Clear background check and drug screening. Prior experience in school, residential, or community security preferred. Physical Requirements Remain on post and on foot for the majority of an 8-hour shift. Work outdoors in heat, sun, rain, and other Florida weather conditions.
