In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for monitoring the property, controlling access points, and ensuring a secure environment for staff, visitors, and assets. Your expertise in surveillance, emergency response, and conflict management will be vital in maintaining a safe and compliant facility. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the first line of defense while supporting our commitment to safety excellence. Duties Conduct regular patrols of the premises using CCTV systems, physical security checks, and access control systems to identify potential risks or breaches. Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and detect suspicious behavior or security violations. Manage access control by verifying identities, performing background checks where necessary, and authorizing entry for authorized personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors. Respond swiftly to emergencies by executing established procedures including fire safety protocols, first aid administration, AED operation, CPR, and emergency evacuation procedures. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities with clarity and accuracy for future reference. Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when required for equipment or supplies while adhering to safety standards. De-escalate conflicts through effective communication and conflict management techniques to maintain a peaceful environment. Support loss prevention initiatives by observing for theft or vandalism and implementing preventative measures aligned with security regulations. Assist law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents by providing relevant information and cooperation. Conduct routine patrols on foot or vehicle around the property to ensure physical security measures are intact and functioning properly. Experience Prior experience in security roles is highly desirable; familiarity with military training or related fields is a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control systems. Experience in incident report writing with attention to detail and clarity. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary. Strong understanding of security regulations, compliance standards, and emergency response procedures.
