Never have a dull, boring day at work again when you become a security officer and emergency medical technician (EMT) at Prairie Meadows. Join our security department and protect guests of Iowa's No. 1 entertainment destination as well as fellow employees. Here's what you'd be responsible for: Responsible for administering medical first aid. Maintaining security over assigned areas by observing guests and watching for any unlawful or suspicious acts. Safeguarding casino assets and protecting the company, guests, and employees from unknown and anticipated threats. Checking credentials and IDs at access points. Receiving and responding quickly to phone and radio calls. Completing reports for all incidents. Surveying outdoor areas near the racetrack to ensure that guests do not enter restricted areas. Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
High school diploma and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. As a condition of employment this officer
MUST CURRENTY HOLD AND MAINTAIN A CERTIFICATION BY THE STATE OF IOWA AS AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN B OR HIGHER, AND MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE PROOF OF CERTIFICATION UPON REQUEST.
Must have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and must meet company insurance requirements. An Iowa Racing and Gaming License is required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Must be able to lift a 37 pound birdcage up to 36 inches in height and over a 12 inch barrier using 1 or 2 hands and then sitting it back down. Must be able to successfully pass the annual defensive tactics course. Conviction of any felony offense will be an automatic disqualification.
