Job Description

Job Summary Hours of position are variable days and nights; 12-hour shifts Guard's patients, staff and property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties Job Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Patrols buildings and grounds within the Network on a routine basis. Examines doors, windows, offices and equipment to determine they are properly secured. Communicates policy infractions to customers, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and detains persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, or escorts off campus. Provides escorts for customers to their vehicles. Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked and equipment left on. Conducts safety/security educational programs. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of persons engaged in suspicious or criminal acts. Records data such as property damage or unusual occurrences. Monitors parking control and visitation programs. Determines where a potential security risk exists and the best way to minimize the risk. Displays competency in the role of Security Officer as evidences in the annual Performance Appraisal following the
FHN PRIDE
Standards.
Requirements Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to two years related security or law enforcement experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also possess a current Illinois driver's license.
Required Experience:
The employee must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills must be continuously demonstrated with all customers.
