This dynamic position shifts between Security Supervisor and Security Officer responsibilities based on operational needs—typically two days per week leading a shift and three days per week protecting the property on the floor. In this role, you'll help safeguard guests and team members, ensure regulatory compliance, collaborate with multiple departments, and lead by example in a high‑energy casino environment. It's an excellent opportunity for security professionals looking to grow their supervisory experience while staying hands‑on with daily operations Provides friendly service to every customer. Works closely with other departments to achieve property and department goals. Protects company assets by adhering to Illinois gaming regulations. Verifies jackpot payouts. Observes money and chip transfers throughout the property. Oversees admissions to the gaming area, and ensures every guest is over 21 years of age. Patrols the property and observes and reports security-related issues. Performs security-related duties as outlined in the Harrah's Joliet Casino Internal Control Standards. Provides Security Dispatch duties when required. Assists the Shift Manager in accomplishing departmental goals and objectives. Coordinates all Security activity on an assigned shift. Monitors incident reports, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Initiates investigatory process when appropriate. Appears in Court as needed. Prepares work schedules and special details about shift. Personally responsible for all compliance matters pertaining to Security. Trains and coordinates staff to ensure compliance on all related policies. Performs duties as assigned. Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same. Adheres to all department/company policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Must be 21 years of age or older Proficient in English verbal and written High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. A minimum of 18 months of Security experience is preferred. Investigative experience preferred Previous basic computer skills, including Word and Excel. Above-average verbal and written communication skills required. Must have strong supervisory and guest service skills. Flexibility to work all shifts, including overnights, Holidays, and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust. Position requires 35% standing, 5% sitting, and 60% walking. Requires some kneeling and reaching overhead. Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues. Must be able to restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists, physically Requires frequent bending, pushing, twisting, climbing, and stooping. Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural, and visual cues. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant public contact.
WORK SCHEDULE/SHIFT
Grave Shift:
11:00 pm -7:30 am Please note that the schedule may vary based on the operational requirements of the business, so flexibility is essential.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$18.00/hr with additional compensation based on toke rate as an Security Officer and $22hr when supervising. Employment Type - Full Time
