Security Specialist Wage Range:
$16.53-$23.55 per hour, plus $0.75 evening shift differential As a Level II Physical Security Officer at Dot Foods Distribution Center in Mt. Sterling, IL, you will be responsible for protecting the facility and its assets. Your duties will include monitoring security systems, patrolling the premises, controlling access points, responding to incidents, conducting security checks, and maintaining detailed logs. By actively surveilling and adhering to security protocols, you will ensure the safety of personnel and property. Additionally, you may perform risk assessments and recommend security improvements to enhance overall safety.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Actively observe the premises using CCTV cameras, perimeter patrols, and access control systems to identify potential security threats. Checking identification, monitoring tailgating/piggybacking activity verifying authorization, and managing entry points to restricted areas. Responding to security alarms, suspicious activity, and emergencies by taking appropriate action, including contacting authorities if necessary. Checking the functionality of security equipment like cameras, alarms, and access control systems, reporting malfunctions for repair. Identifying potential security risks within the facility and recommending preventative measures. Educating staff on security protocols and procedures. Participating in emergency drills and coordinating evacuation procedures. Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position
YOU MUST HAVE
Law Enforcement Experience (Must meet LEOSA standards) High School Diploma or GED Excellent communication skills Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information abiding by HIPPA. Ability to work collaboratively with others Experience with de-escalation
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
Experience in civilian, law enforcement, or military security. Experience with security systems and technology. Experience in disaster response. Firearm training.
ROLE SPECIFICS
May be required to attend and work security at Dot special events. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train. Schedule - 4x10 hour shifts Monday to Thursday 3:00pm-1:00am
