School Security Officer

School Resource Officers Applicants must be active law enforcement officers and certified through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Officers will be armed Officers will be certified as School Resource Officers within 6 months employment Applicants will be working security at Morton HS, Hammond Central HS, Eggers MS, and/or Scott MS Officers will assist with disturbances or emergencies on school property during school days or special events involving students, staff, and general public Officers will assist staff with state mandated drills Officers will assist school administrators and staff members with overall safety concerns or suspicious activities at the school Officers will assist with monitoring students and visitors that enter and leave the school Officers will assist with monitoring students in the cafeteria during lunch periods and with clearing hallways Officers will maintain a positive presence at all times. Officers will actively monitor and patrol the schools while on duty. Officers will work to develop positive relationships with students and staff. Officers acknowledge that while working for SCH, they report to the building administration and the District School Safety Specialist.
