Job Description

Job Overview The Breckinridge County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of Court Security Officer.. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our judicial center, employees, and visitors. This role requires strong conflict management skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations. The Court Security Officer will monitor premises through surveillance, conduct regular patrols on court grounds, and ensure safety of our courtrooms, serve papers for the courts, observe inmates in holding cells, transport prisoners from detention center to detention center, including out of state transport. Duties Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity including running a security checkpoint with a metal detector. Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, providing assistance as needed. Utilize surveillance equipment to monitor activities within the facility. Provide first aid and CPR when required in emergency situations. Transportation of prisoners Qualifications Be at least 21 years old Proven experience in security, law enforcement, military or a related field is preferred Be willing to take a polygraph exam Be willing to participate in random Drug Screening Candidates must allow access to social media history A background check will be conducted on all applicants, including but not limited to interviews with family, friends, neighbors and previous employers. High school diploma or equivalent Clean criminal background (Background checks and KLEC precertification can take up to 3 months and require travel). Strong conflict management skills with the ability to lead in high-pressure situations Familiarity with surveillance systems and monitoring equipment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred. Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
