Job Description
Schedule:
Varies based on the need. (58 Hours Bi-Weekly) This position is responsible for : Ensuring the safety, security, and orderly operation of the shelter while providing direct support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Process new shelter clients during check-in. Obtain required signatures on shelter rules and documentation. Assign rooms and maintain resident property records. Monitor residents to ensure compliance with shelter rules. Conduct routine security rounds throughout the facility. Collects and washes all dirty towels and linens.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action. Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or G.E.D and one year experience performing security or social service work preferred, any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
