  • This position is contingent upon contract award
  • Job DescriptionSemper Valens Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead IA / Security Specialist to support a program in the Fort Meade, MD area.
This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your leadership, technical expertise, and DoD experience to guide complex programs supporting U.S. Government and military customers.

Serves as the senior cybersecurity and information assurance lead responsible for protecting information systems, ensuring compliance with federal and organizational security requirements, and guiding risk management activities across IT programs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls
  • Serve as the primary security authority supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including system authorization (ATO), control selection, and continuous monitoring
  • Oversee and mentor IA/cybersecurity staff, ensuring alignment with program and organizational objectives
  • Conduct and coordinate security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with
NIST 800-53, NIST
RMF, DoDI 8510.01, FISMA, and other applicable cybersecurity standards
  • Collaborate with program managers, system engineers, and stakeholders to integrate security throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Manage and review security artifacts, including System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, SARs, and risk assessments
  • Support incident response, auditing, and continuous monitoring activities
  • Provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity architecture, system hardening, and data protection Qualifications / Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or Computer Science discipline
  • Minimum four years of DoD-related experience supporting U.S. military or other Government agencies. An additional four years of experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum program execution
  • Relevant certifications such as:
  • CISSP (preferred)
  • CISM, CASP+, Security+, or GSLC
