An Armed Security Officer provides security for property at hospitals, hotels, warehouses or office buildings. Have a license to carry a weapon ranging from a club to a firearm. Monitors entrances and patrols buildings, watches for intruders or vandals; reports building maintenance problems; deals with customers or visitors that create a disturbance in the building.
ArmedProtective SecurityOfficers will staff armedposts and provide security for the personnel and property of, and visitors to, assigned US Government Property. May also work in a Control Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Protect personnel and property in a professional manner. Meet and deal tactfully and politely withgeneralpublic and visitors. Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors. Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations. Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols. Complete all reports and paperwork asrequired. Ability tomaintainexcellent detection rate on x ray machine. Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies. Secure entrances and exits during emergencies. Control keys and lock combinations. Communicate and remain accessible via two-way radio or company issued cellular phone. Understand andcomply withall requirements defined within company documents to include Post and General Orders, plans, policies, procedures. Observe and report all offenses/incidents. Provide first aid, CPR, andassistduringemergenciesas necessary. Must be able to wear protective body armor asa partof the duty uniform. Maintain mandated training requirementsin accordance withcompany guidance. Maintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualifications. Ensure safetyrequirementscompliance and safe work practices. Support safety programsParticipatein Quality and Process Improvement programs. Worksite is a 24/7 location based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS US
Citizen with a valid social security card. Mustpossessa minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Possess at least one of the following experience/ education criteria: (1) minimum of three(3)years of verifiable Armed guard experience withinpastfive years. (2) Three(3)years of military or National Guard. (3) Successful completion of a state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer's standard training course. Pass andmaintainmedical and physical fitness standards. Meet background screening and U.S. Government suitability requirements. Must have the ability toacquire, andmaintain, a DHS Suitability. Successful completion of Protective Security Officer Training and certification. May berequiredto lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting,stretchingand bending throughout the workday.
