Job Description
Position Summary The Beer Garden Security Officer is responsible for helping create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for guests and staff. This position monitors access to the beer garden, verifies guest identification, assists with crowd management, and responds to situations in a professional and respectful manner while representing the company in a positive manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Check valid government-issued identification to verify legal drinking age. Monitor entrances and exits to ensure only authorized guests enter the beer garden. Maintain crowd control and help manage guest flow during busy periods and events. Observe guests for disruptive, aggressive, or unsafe behavior and respond appropriately. Enforce company policies and applicable state and local alcohol regulations. Assist in preventing underage drinking and over-service of alcohol. Communicate professionally with guests while resolving conflicts calmly and respectfully. Contact management or emergency services when situations require additional assistance. Monitor the beer garden for safety hazards and report concerns immediately. Help maintain an orderly, clean, and secure environment throughout each shift. Complete incident reports when necessary. Work closely with bartenders, servers, managers, and event staff to ensure a safe guest experience. Assist with opening and closing security procedures as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age (21 years preferred). Previous security, customer service, hospitality, or law enforcement experience is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions. Dependable, professional, and able to exercise good judgment. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Ability to quickly respond to emergency situations when necessary. Working Conditions Outdoor work environment. Frequent interaction with guests in a high-volume setting. Exposure to varying weather conditions, loud music, and large crowds.
