Security Guard

Job Overview We are seeking a vigilant and experienced Security to oversee security operations during at our Student Housing properties in Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Most of our residents are college aged students One should possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in security protocols, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. The position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated security team while maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance and conflict management. Responsibilities Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to detect suspicious activity or security breaches Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential hazards or unauthorized access Do audits of all exterior lighting, making note of any lights that are not working Patrol building hallways and clubhouses on foot Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, or alarms, Manage conflict situations with professionalism, applying conflict management techniques to de-escalate issues Communicate effectively with Property Managers when debriefing at the end of the shift of what occurred overnight Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate relevant information to management Help residents who are locked out of their apartments Experience Prior experience in private security roles is highly desirable Some knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV and loss prevention techniques Proven ability to handle conflict management situations with professionalism and composure Experience in managing or supervising security personnel is a plus Strong understanding of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and safety regulations This position requires a dedicated individual committed to maintaining a secure environment Must pass a drug test, physical, and have a good driving record and pass a criminal background check.
