Job Description

Position Summary The Overnight Safety & Guest Services Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of guests, team members, and hotel property during overnight hours. This role combines front office guest service responsibilities with security monitoring, incident response, and operational support to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities Guest Services Greet and assist guests in a professional and friendly manner. Perform guest check-ins and check-outs during overnight shifts. Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and emergencies. Handle room assignments, key issuance, and guest inquiries. Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions. Resolve guest issues and escalate concerns when necessary. Safety & Security Conduct routine patrols of building premises, including guest and resident floors and public spaces. Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems. Respond to safety incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations. Complete incident and accident reports accurately and promptly. Ensure compliance with hotel privacy and safety policies and procedures. Assist with fire, medical, and evacuation emergencies as required. Secure entrances, exits, and restricted areas during overnight hours. Operations Support Maintain accurate overnight activity logs and reports. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and management regarding overnight issues and duties. Assist with property inspections and identify safety hazards. Support administrative tasks when needed. Ensure the hotel lobby and public areas remain clean, secure, and presentable. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous customer service experience required; hospitality experience strongly preferred Ability to multitask, stay focused, and remain professional in an overnight setting Basic understanding of accounting principles including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and spreadsheet data entry Comfortable working independently and resolving guest issues with confidence Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer proficiency; experience with hotel PMS systems preferred A flexible schedule with availability for overnights, weekends, and holidays Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs as needed Working Conditions This position operates primarily in a hotel front office environment and requires use of standard office equipment including computers, telephones, and printers. Night Auditors may be required to work alone or with minimal supervision during overnight hours. Physical Abilities While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel. This position occasionally requires sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
