N/A Job Summary The public safety and security officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors by patrolling the campus, reporting crime and enforcing university policies. Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution Secures premises by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment and inspecting buildings and access points Upholds university's standards and reputation by complying with legal requirements of the Clery Act Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the university's Emergency Action Plan Enforces campus parking regulations Completes incident/accident reports for missing or stolen property and criminal activity; assures accurate reports, including detailed, complete observations and information Conducts surveillance Interviews witnesses and obtains signatures Service Excellence Supports the university mission and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence Models, supports and holds others accountable to the university's values

Required Qualifications

• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Acceptable criminal background check Security license must be obtained within 60 days of employment Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications must be obtained in a timely manner State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Incident Command System (ICS) 100 Higher Education (HE) and 700 courses must be passed with certifications obtained Bachelor's degree preferred Security, military or law enforcement experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
