Job Description
Sheepdog Protective Services is seeking professional, dependable, and proactive individuals for a PRN Armed Security Officer position. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible supplemental hours, with most shifts occurring on weekends, special events, and occasional fill-in assignments. We are looking for officers who can represent the company professionally, communicate effectively with clients and the public, and maintain a strong security presence while focusing on customer service, observation, and de-escalation. Preference will be given to applicants who currently hold an active North Carolina PPSB Armed Guard Registration. Responsibilities Provide a visible security presence at client locations and events Conduct foot patrols and monitor assigned areas for safety and security concerns Monitor access points and verify authorized access when required Respond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies Complete detailed incident reports and activity logs Maintain professionalism and strong communication with clients, guests, and team members De-escalate conflicts and handle situations calmly and professionally Follow all company policies, post orders, and North Carolina PPSB regulations Qualifications Active NC PPSB Armed Guard Registration preferred High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong communication and report writing skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions Prior security, military, law enforcement, or emergency services experience preferred Schedule PRN / As Needed Primarily weekend shifts Additional weekday shifts and special events may become available What We're Looking For We are not just looking for someone to "stand a post."
