Flex Security Guard

Position Overview The Flex Security Guard is an on-call, as-needed security professional who serves as a critical resource for Security Dash's emergency scheduling needs. This position does not guarantee a set number of hours per week. Assignments are offered based on emergency coverage needs and account availability across multiple client locations. The Flex Guard must be adaptable, dependable, and ready to respond on short notice.

Schedule Type:

On-call / Emergency basis only. Flex Guards are contacted as vacancies arise due to callouts, emergencies, or sudden account needs.

Location:

Assignments may be at any active Security Dash client site. Locations vary and are not fixed.

Availability Expectation:

Flex Guards are expected to maintain reasonable availability and respond to scheduling contacts in a timely manner. Failure to respond consistently may result in fewer assignment opportunities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Duties will vary by site but generally include the following: Provide security presence at assigned client locations, including commercial properties, retail centers, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, and other environments Monitor premises for unauthorized activity, safety hazards, or policy violations Control access to client facilities by verifying credentials, monitoring entry points, and maintaining visitor logs Conduct foot patrols of interior and exterior areas per post orders Respond to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and incidents in accordance with site-specific post orders and Security Dash protocols Prepare accurate, detailed incident reports for any events occurring during a shift Communicate professionally with clients, employees, visitors, and emergency personnel Follow all site-specific post orders upon arrival — each location may have different procedures Represent Security Dash professionally at all times regardless of assignment location Position Standards These standards always apply to all Flex Guards, regardless of location or assignment length. Availability & Responsiveness Must respond to scheduling contacts (call, text, or app notification) within a reasonable timeframe. Must confirm or decline assignments promptly so alternate coverage can be arranged if needed. Repeated unavailability or non-responses may result in removal from the Flex roster Punctuality & Reliability Must arrive on time and in full uniform for every accepted assignment, including last-minute emergency calls. Late arrivals or no-shows on accepted shifts are taken seriously and may result in disciplinary action or removal from the Flex program. Professionalism & Conduct Must always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Security Dash uniform and grooming standards. Must treat all clients, co-workers, and the public with respect, regardless of assignment location. No use of personal devices for non-emergency purposes while on post Adaptability Must be willing and able to work at a variety of client sites across different industries. Must be capable of quickly reviewing and following site-specific post orders upon arrival. Must remain effective in unfamiliar environments with minimal orientation time. Reporting & Documentation All incidents, observations, and required logs must be completed accurately and submitted in accordance with site and company requirements. Flex Guards are held to the same documentation standards as full-time officers. Communication Must maintain an active, always working phone number on file with the scheduling team. Must notify the scheduling supervisor immediately if availability changes, a conflict arises, or an emergency prevents reporting to an accepted assignment. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Reliable transportation to reach varying client locations Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods Strong observation, communication, and decision-making skills Must pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred:

Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience Experience working across multiple site types or industries. CPR / First Aid certification Acknowledgment of Flex Position Terms By accepting a position on the Security Dash Flex roster, the employee acknowledges that: This position does not constitute a guarantee of hours or ongoing employment. Assignments are offered only on an emergency and as-needed basis. Location of work will vary and is subject to change with each assignment. Failure to maintain availability standards or professional conduct may result in removal from the Flex roster.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
