Part-Time, 35 hours per week, aligning with school calendar
Position Overview:
The Raymond Police Department in partnership with the Raymond School District/SAU 33 is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Part-Time School Resource Officer (SRO) to join our team. The SRO will serve as a visible and approachable law enforcement presence at the Raymond High School, helping ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors while fostering positive relationships between the school community and law enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and secure learning environment on school grounds. Serve as a resource to students, staff, and parents regarding safety and security matters. Assist in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans. Build positive relationships with students to promote trust and open communication. Enforce state and local laws and conduct investigations as necessary, in coordination with school policies. Provide safety presentations, mentorship, and support for student programs. Respond to incidents, emergencies, or concerns as they arise on campus.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a law enforcement officer. Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members. Commitment to serving as a positive role model for youth.
Schedule & Compensation:
Part-time position, approximately 7 hours/5 days per week. Work schedule aligned with the school calendar. Hourly wage of $35.00. The Town of Raymond is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
