Job Duties and Responsibilities:
A security officer plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and order.
Their responsibilities typically include:
Patrolling and Monitoring:
Regularly inspecting premises to deter criminal activity and ensure a secure environment.
Access Control:
Managing the entrance and exit of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to security protocols.
Surveillance:
Monitoring to detect any suspicious activities.
Communication:
Using radios or other devices lo coordinate security efforts.
Compliance and Reporting:
Documenting daily activities and security Incidents for management review.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED.
Equivalent Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
A security officer needs to stay composed and fearless in different situations, including working in lowlight conditions, encountering insects, or dealing with animals. Confidence and awareness are key to ensuring safety while remaining undisturbed by external factors.
Special Certification/Licensure:
Working Conditions and Physical Effort Environment:
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Physical Effort:
Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.
Lifting Requirements:
Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
Risk:
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
