POSITION PURPOSE
The Security Officer position is responsible for delivering professional protective services that safeguard people, property and assets across all THS locations.
MINIMUM MANDATORY
qualifications
Experience:
  • One (1) year direct work experience as a Security Officer or in the Law Enforcement or Military fields.
Experience must include securing and ensuring protection of clients, visitors, property and equipment.
Education:
  • High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE) required.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to write legible reports with proper English, grammar, spelling, etc.
  • Strong verbal and diplomacy skills when dealing with irrational individuals.
  • Ability to work long hours and deal with stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of required safety devices utilized in security services.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of staff and people.
  • Ability to work the assigned schedules and locations. Position will require hours beyond the normal 8am-5pm schedule.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to commit to schedule, willingness to meet hours of shift and adapt to changes.
  • Must have basic operating knowledge of electronic access control and surveillance systems (CCTV).
  • The applicant must be in good health and physically able to carry out the job duties. The job may require exposure to the outside environment, walking and standing for long periods of time and may require physically restraining other individuals on occasion.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Coding Specialist position is responsible for the conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using the international classification of diseases (ICD and CPT codes). The position is accountable for sequencing of diagnoses and procedures for health statistics, long term planning and reimbursement. The position ensures that all records are coded in an accurate and timely manner and performs abstracting of records.
MINIMUM MANDATORY

Experience:
  • One (1)
  • three (3) years' experience in ICD and CPT coding assignments and inpatient and outpatient coding experience in a Health Information Management department of an acute care hospital or physician practice, including experience with medical record clinical abstracting into a hospital software system.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE).
  • Current Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist
  • Physician based (CCS-P) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)/Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of State, Federal and HIPAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) record requirements, Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG), ICD and CPT coding guidelines.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pharmacology.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with practice leadership, physicians, advanced practitioners, colleagues and other HCMC and TPS team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with all members of the care team and with patients and family members.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing the highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Well organized, efficient task management and attention to detail skills.
  • Must have the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining calm, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
