A Security Officer provides security for property at hospitals, hotels, warehouses or office buildings. Monitors entrances and patrols buildings, watches for intruders or vandals; reports building maintenance problems; deals with customers or visitors that create a disturbance in the building.

Job Description
Under the supervision of the Security Supervisor, performs duties which help to maintain the security of the building, grounds, and all persons therein. Provides patient observations as ordered by a physician. na
EDUCATION
Minimum:
- High School education required.
LICENSE:
Minimum:
- Valid NYS driver's license clear of violations consistent with FLH Policy
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- NYS Security Guard Registration, which includes completion of 8-hour pre-assignment training.
Preferred:
- 16-hour Security Guard course, CPI obtained within 90 days of hire.
- BLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
- Previous security experience.
SKILLS:
Minimum:
- Must have a good driving history and be able to travel to multiple locations on any given day as requested.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
