Beth El provides a wide range of religious, educational, social and community activities for all ages. We have a nursery school, after school program and summer camp. Our Security Guards play a vital role in maintaining the security and safety of our members, visitors, students and employees. This can be a fast paced environment that requires customer service and problem solving skills, patience and effective communication skills. This position works closely with staff and our outside security vendor to help ensure safety and security for all. Candidates must be 21+ years of age, proficient in English, HS Diploma or GED and a valid New York State Security Guard License. Two years of security experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Patrol premises and report all unusual situations related to security and fire safety Interact with visitors and staff in a courteous and helpful manner Conduct daily safety and security survey of premises Operate and monitor computer based CCTV and security alarm systems Follow direction and perform all duties related to physical security and fire safety, including assisting during emergency situations while maintaining a composed demeanor Take appropriate action to correct safety and security conditions Respond to medical situations and take appropriate action May be required to assist with snow and ice removal from the Synagogue property

Requirements:

H.S. Diploma or GED Must have a valid Unique Security Registration Number with the N.Y.S. Department of State, Division of Two years of security experience preferred Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and overtime Ability to deal with the public and respond to emergency situations Must be able to stand for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs Experience operating computer based CCTV and security alarm systems, a plus To apply, send a resume with a Cover Letter to .
