Job Description

New Hope Ministries is seeking a calm, grounded presence to support daily operations at one of our community centers. This person will help create a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment for the guests we serve and the staff and volunteers who serve alongside them. The ideal candidate brings steadiness under pressure, strong people skills, and a heart for serving individuals from all walks of life.
Key responsibilities:
Foster a welcoming, respectful atmosphere for all guests, staff, and volunteers Recognize and respond to tense or escalating situations calmly and constructively, using de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques Maintain awareness of the environment and help ensure the physical safety and security of everyone on site Build rapport and trust with guests, meeting people where they are with patience and dignity Partner with staff to connect guests to appropriate resources and support Respond appropriately to crisis or emergency situations and know when to involve additional support

option Experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations in a community, ministry, healthcare, or social-services setting Demonstrated de-escalation, crisis-response, or conflict-management skills Ability to remain composed and exercise sound judgment in unpredictable or high-pressure situations A background in law enforcement, military, security, behavioral health, social work, or crisis intervention Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people across a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances Alignment with New Hope's mission and values Possess a driver's license and clean driving record Obtain and maintain 1st Aid and CPR training Must obtain and maintain child abuse clearances Must obtain and maintain mandated reporter child abuse training and serve as a mandated reporter New Hope Ministries is seeking a calm, grounded presence to support daily operations at one of our community centers.
