Responsibilities Conduct thorough patrols of premises using surveillance equipment and physical inspections to deter unauthorized access and identify potential threats. Manage access control systems to verify identities and authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors. Respond promptly to emergency situations by following established procedures, including fire safety protocols, first aid administration, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response coordination. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities for review and follow-up. Perform background checks on new personnel or visitors as part of the security clearance process. Operate surveillance tools such as CCTV cameras and monitor live feeds to detect unusual activity or security violations. Utilize conflict de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety. Handle manual tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for security equipment or supplies while adhering to safety guidelines. Conduct routine inspections of security equipment like Taser devices, firearms (where permitted), and other physical security tools ensuring proper functionality. Maintain compliance with all security regulations and policies while providing exceptional customer service to visitors and staff. Experience ACT 235 Required. ACT 67 strongly preferred. Proven experience in physical security roles, military service, law enforcement or related fields demonstrating strong surveillance capabilities. Knowledge of emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols. Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV operation, incident report writing, and background check procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in various environments. Strong conflict management skills with experience de-escalating tense situations professionally. Excellent observational skills combined with the ability to respond quickly under pressure.
