Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Security Technical Lead to help build and scale an internal Security Modular Platform used by engineering teams across the organization. This role will lead and mentor software engineers while remaining actively involved in technical design and development. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering and cloud-native expertise, experience building or integrating security capabilities, and the ability to deliver reusable security services through APIs, SDKs, portals, and automation tools. This is a remote position in the United States with a long-term contract and potential for extension or conversion. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers.
- Drive code reviews, engineering best practices, and technical design decisions.
- Build and enhance security platform capabilities, including authentication and authorization, RBAC, IAM, compliance and security controls, and secrets and key management.
- Integrate existing security services into a centralized security platform.
- Partner with Product, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to deliver platform capabilities.
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, observability, and automation.
- Contribute to the adoption and implementation of AI capabilities within the platform and developer experience.
- Support incident response, SLA management, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Design and deliver reusable security capabilities that can be consumed through APIs, SDKs, portals, and automation tools. Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of technical leadership or team leadership experience.
- Strong experience with Java and/or Node.js.
- Strong experience with AWS.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.
- Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers.
- Experience building or integrating security capabilities into cloud platforms.
- Experience with IAM, RBAC, authentication, authorization, secrets management, WAF, SIEM, security scanning, or related security operations technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Harness, or similar tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building SDKs, APIs, or CLI tools.
- Experience with AI/LLM technologies within engineering or security environments.
- Experience building or supporting large-scale internal developer platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise compliance and security initiatives.
- Experience with platform security engineering, security software engineering, DevSecOps, or security-focused platform engineering.
- Experience with developer experience platforms and reusable security services.
