An Armed Security Officer provides security for property at hospitals, hotels, warehouses or office buildings. Have a license to carry a weapon ranging from a club to a firearm. Monitors entrances and patrols buildings, watches for intruders or vandals; reports building maintenance problems; deals with customers or visitors that create a disturbance in the building.

Armed Security Officer Pay Rate:
$24.63 an hour $500 hiring bonus!!! •Secret Clearance Required - Company will sponsor if needed• This position is for 3rd shift (overnight) Full Time 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM - Sunday through Thursday. Objective Security Officers are required to protect property, including people, information, and classified material, from theft, diversion, sabotage, espionage, unauthorized access and control, and other acts that may impact national security. Security Officers enforce specific laws regarding the protection of government property, traffic control, parking, and making criminal and accident investigations. Essential Functions Read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public. Maintaining a professional, discreet and courteous demeanor under stressful situations, security personnel routinely encounter. Be able to compose precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports in the English language as necessary. Job Duties Performs security patrols.
Enforces access control procedures.
Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
Investigates and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security-related situations.
Assist customers, employees, and visitors in following the department's procedures.
May perform other related duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen
At least 21 years of age
Possess a valid driver's license
Possess a valid Rhode Island license to carry
Proficient in English
DoD Secret Clearance required
Previous armed security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
Must be able to pass initial physical fitness test
Additional Qualifications:
The applicant must submit to a pre-employment medical exam and drug screening. The applicant must be able to pass an NLIC / State / Local Background check and Credit check (as applicable).
