As a Campus Security Guard on the Campus Police Department, you'll help protect the people, property, and legacy that make SC State a place where students thrive. Your Role on Campus Working full-time across scheduled shifts, you'll be a visible and trusted presence across the SC State campus.
Your day-to-day will include:
Patrolling campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and residence halls to deter and respond to security incidents Monitoring access points and enforcing university policies to maintain a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff Responding to calls for assistance, documenting incidents accurately, and liaising with local law enforcement when required Supporting crowd management at campus events, including evening and weekend functions What You Bring High school diploma or GED equivalent Current or ability to obtain a South Carolina Security Guard registration Valid South Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related public safety role Strong written and verbal communication skills for accurate incident reporting Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays Why SC State There's a distinct sense of purpose that comes with working at South Carolina State University.
