• Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Unarmed Security Officer to support the construction phase of a major industrial project in Huron, SD.

In this role, you will help protect the job site, monitor activity, enforce access control, and maintain a safe and secure environment for contractors, vendors, and authorized personnel. This position is ideal for someone who is alert, professional, and able to work independently while representing a trusted local security company. Responsibilities Conduct routine patrols of the construction site to identify security risks, safety hazards, or unauthorized activity. Monitor surveillance systems and support site security through observation and reporting. Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and authorizing entry for approved personnel. Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, emergencies, or suspicious activity. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, patrols, and security checks. Assist with loss prevention by monitoring for theft, vandalism, trespassing, or property damage. Coordinate with site leadership, contractors, and emergency responders when necessary. Support a safe and professional work environment throughout the construction phase. Requirements Prior experience in security, construction site security, law enforcement, military service, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain alert, calm, and professional in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods during shifts. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Valid South Dakota security license or ability to obtain one as required. First aid/CPR certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain after hire. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening if required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with access control, surveillance monitoring, or incident reporting. Familiarity with industrial or construction environments. Strong communication and customer service skills. Compensation $18

• 25 per hour , depending on experience and shift assignment.

Night and weekend shift premiums may apply. Overtime eligible where applicable.
