Description:
Armed Security Guard - Federal Site (NOAA - Washington State) Qualifications To be eligible to perform under this contract, all uniformed employees must meet the most current contract/PWS requirements and maintain all required credentials, certifications, and clearances as a condition of employment. Must be a citizen of the United States of America, including U.S. territories and/or Commonwealths, unless otherwise approved by the Government/COR under applicable contract requirements. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Must fluently speak, read, comprehend, and write coherent reports in English. Must be proficient with computers, including electronic reports, email, security systems, and digital communication platforms. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Armed Security Guard License through the Washington State Department of Licensing. Washington requires unarmed security guards to be employed by or have a job offer from a licensed private security guard company and complete pre-assignment training requirements. If assigned to an armed post, must be able to obtain and maintain the required Washington State Armed Security Guard License/endorsement and a current firearms certificate issued by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Armed security guards must be at least 21 years old. Must be able to obtain and maintain all NOAA/federal site access requirements, suitability determinations, clearances, or background checks required by the contract. Officers must complete and maintain any required Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence certification, if applicable to the assignment. Must possess a valid driver's license when required by the site assignment. Experience/Education Requirements Must meet one of the following: Three years of physical security experience as a security officer, armed or unarmed; or Two years of military service, Active Duty, Reserves, or National Guard; or Successful completion of a Federal or State-certified Law Enforcement Training Program or POST Academy; or Any combination of two years of physical security experience and military service; or Associate's degree or higher in security, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits Starting Pay:
$19.55 per hour during the initial 90-day probationary period
Post-Probation Pay:
$25.88 per hour upon successful completion of probation
Shift Differential:
Additional $0.50 per hour for hours worked between 3:00 PM and 7:00
AM Health & Welfare Benefit:
$5.25 per hour for up to 40 hours worked weekly in accordance with applicable federal wage determinations
Paid Training:
Mandatory initial, annual, and site-specific training provided at no cost to employees
Paid Sick Leave:
Provided in accordance with federal contractor requirements
Holiday Pay:
Eligibility for paid federal holidays based on assignment and contract requirements
Overtime Opportunities:
Available based on operational needs and paid in accordance with federal labor standards
Uniforms & Equipment:
All required uniforms, identification credentials, communication devices, and duty equipment provided

Access to company-sponsored benefit programs, employee assistance resources, and workplace safety programs, where eligible Contractor employees must be physically able to perform the following duties: Physically subdue or engage in confrontation with individuals when required; Work under occasional tension or pressure; Work alone while armed; Walk, stand, and sit for extended periods; Apply handcuffs when required; Respond to life-threatening or emergency situations; Work in inclement weather, low-light, and night conditions; Walk and drive on uneven or unpaved terrain; Open and close secured gates and access points; Climb stairs as required by site operations.
Requirements:
All Protective Officers assigned to positions within Washington must meet and maintain the following qualifications as a condition of employment and continued assignment under applicable federal contract requirements. Failure to Maintain Qualifications Failure to obtain, maintain, renew, or remain eligible for any required license, certification, clearance, qualification, or credential may result in: Temporary removal from duty Removal from post Reassignment, if work is available and the employee otherwise qualifies Administrative leave, where applicable Separation from employment Such action will be taken consistent with company policy, applicable contract requirements, and any governing collective bargaining agreement.
