As an Armed School Security Officer, you'll be the professional who makes that possible, the person students know by name, the calm presence on an ordinary day, and the one everyone depends on when it matters most. What You'll Do Working under the direction of your School Security Supervisor, you will: Protect students, faculty, staff, visitors, and school property through a highly visible, professional security presence. Serve as the primary security professional assigned to your campus. Build trusted relationships with students, families, educators, administrators, and local law enforcement. Foster a welcoming, safe, and respectful campus environment. Enforce applicable laws, school policies, and security procedures with sound judgment and professionalism. Monitor visitor management, access control, surveillance systems, and campus activity. Identify, investigate, and respond to suspicious activity or security concerns. Coordinate emergency drills and maintain state compliance. Serve as the campus subject-matter expert for emergency planning, preparedness, and training. Deliver age-appropriate presentations on safety and emergency preparedness. Support responding law enforcement and emergency personnel during critical incidents. Prepare accurate reports, documentation, and administrative records. What You'll Need Minimum 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED (college coursework or degree preferred). Ability to obtain and maintain a Texas Level III Commissioned Security Officer License. Ability to legally possess and carry a firearm while performing assigned duties. Ability to pass all background investigations, drug screening, and licensing requirements. Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.
