Armed Security Officer (FPS) My Next Career Path Staffing - With over 20 years' experience in Technology Staffing, MNCP Staffing matches candidates to the culture of an organization as well as required skill sets. Position Overview We are seeking qualified Federal Protective Service (FPS) Security Officers to support operations across multiple locations in Utah. This role is responsible for protecting federal facilities, personnel, and assets while maintaining a safe and secure environment. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide armed security services to protect federal facilities, personnel, and assets
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, credentials, and screening visitors
  • Conduct routine patrols (interior and exterior) to detect and deter suspicious activity
  • Monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems
  • Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, following established protocols
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs
  • Enforce federal rules, regulations, and site-specific security procedures
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness and professionalism at all times
  • Ensure proper handling, use, and maintenance of issued firearms and equipment
  • Support crowd control and emergency evacuation procedures when required
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with employees, visitors, and the public Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen OR a Lawful Permanent Resident with:
  • Current membership in the U.S. Armed Forces, OR
  • Verifiable honorable discharge from any U.S. military branch
  • Must possess a valid Social Security Card
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience Requirements (One of the following):
  • Minimum 5 years of armed security or law enforcement experience, OR
  • Minimum 2 years of military service (active duty or reserve) with an honorable discharge
  • Supervisory experience is a plus Additional Requirements / Conditions of Employment Ability to pass:
  • Pre-employment medical examination o Drug screening o Federal, State, and Local background checks (NLIC) o Credit check (if applicable)
  • Must obtain a favorable FPS Fitness Determination (Suitability)
  • Must maintain all required state licensing and certifications Required Certifications & Training
  • State Security License
  • 40-Hour Initial Weapons Training
  • 36-Hour Basic Training
  • Tri-Annual Refresher Training
  • MEB Certification
  • OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) Certification
  • First Aid / CPR / AED Certification
  • FPS Orientation
  • FPS National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP)
FPS Firearms Qualification Pay:
$29.56 per hour Application Question(s): Are you at least 21 years of age?
