Professional Security Officer (Unarmed) PPAD Glade Spring Virginia American Security Associates, Inc. is seeking top-tier Unarmed Security Professionals for an assignment like no other. A clean quiet atmosphere, great people to work with, growing and looking to add another guard to the ranks. We are an established security firm operating in 26 states, known for providing professional, client-focused security services. This position is suited for individuals who take pride in presence, professionalism, and accountability—not just "clocking in." Position Overview This is not an entry-level "stand and watch" post. We are looking for officers who can think, communicate, and represent the property at a high level. Best dressed, best smile, best people skills is what will be expected. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, controlled, and well-managed environment while interacting with locals, guests from all over the nation, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner. Core Responsibilities
- Maintain a high-visibility presence and professional image at all times
- Control access and monitor property activity
- Enforce client rules, policies, and standards consistently
- Identify, assess, and report suspicious or unusual activity
- Complete clear, detailed, and accurate reports
- De-escalate situations using sound judgment and communication
- Represent both the client and company with professionalism Schedule Expectations
- Must be dependable and consistently on time
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required
- Flexibility is highly valued Minimum Qualifications (Strictly Enforced)
- Virginia Private Security License (active or ability to obtain immediately)
- Clean criminal background and ability to pass drug screening
- Reliable transportation and working smartphone
- Professional appearance (uniform and grooming standards enforced)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills Ideal Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in freight movement; transportation; OTR experience welcome
- Background in military, law enforcement, or corrections
- Comfortable interacting with high-end clientele
- Ability to remain calm, observant, and decisive under pressure
