JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is to provide a safe and secure environment for hospital staff, patients, and visitors on the Porter Hospital Campus. Security Officers enforce hospital policies, conduct routine and impromptu patrols of the campus, respond to emergent/non emergent call for service promptly. The Security Officer will also provide service to the Helen Porter Nursing Home that is located on site. The Security Officer reports to the Security Manager and or the Director of Support Services.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
  • Prior law enforcement or Security experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience performing security in the healthcare environment also strongly preferred. University of Vermont Health
  • Porter Medical Center is located in the heart of beautiful Middlebury, Vermont.
We are comprised of a 25-bed acute care facility, a 98-bed skilled nursing facility which includes a memory care unit, short-term rehabilitation unit and a long-term care unit, and a network of primary care and specialty medical practices throughout Addison County and the town of Brandon.
