Job Description

Position Summary The Security Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through the consistent and professional execution of site security protocols, procedures, and policies. Security Associates serve as the first point of contact for employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors and are expected to remain vigilant while providing exceptional customer service. They act as the eyes and ears of site management, promptly identifying and reporting security concerns while representing both the client and the security organization in a professional manner. Essential Job Functions Enforce site security protocols, procedures, and policies. Ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, contractors, and company property. Maintain security and safety within assigned areas. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the facility layout, departments, access routes, and access control requirements. Operate and monitor security systems, including access control, alarms, closed-circuit television (CCTV), and other security equipment. Manage multiple phone lines, two-way radios, and other communication systems, including monitoring emergency communications when required. Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors by answering questions, giving directions, and responding to inquiries. Report promptly and accurately all security incidents, policy violations, and unusual activity to site management and the Security Operations Center. Verify identification and control access to the facility, denying entry to individuals who cannot provide appropriate authorization while courteously explaining site access requirements. Register and direct visitors, vendors, and contractors to the appropriate departments or designated site contacts. Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and other required documentation using computer-based systems. Support visitor and contractor onboarding requirements, including coordinating or assisting with required site safety or compliance training as directed. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Assist with administrative duties and other tasks as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in security, customer service, or a related field is preferred. Valid driver's license required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during emergencies. Ability to operate security equipment, including CCTV, access control systems, alarms, radios, and computers. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods Ability to climb stairs and occasional ladders Ability to walk on uneven terrain Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds Strong attention to detail and situational awareness. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in all interactions.
