Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Part Time Armed Security Officer to safeguard our school environment. This role involves maintaining a secure and safe atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors through proactive security measures, surveillance, and emergency response. The ideal candidate will possess strong conflict management skills, familiarity with law enforcement procedures, and experience with security equipment such as access control systems and CCTV. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive school community while utilizing your security expertise and physical security skills. Duties Conduct regular patrols of school premises to monitor for suspicious activity and ensure safety protocols are followed. Perform surveillance using CCTV cameras to observe activity across campus areas and identify potential security threats Respond swiftly to emergencies by implementing emergency response procedures, including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety measures Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other notable events accurately and promptly Manage conflict de-escalation techniques to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining a safe environment Perform background checks on new staff or visitors as part of access control procedures and compliance requirements Experience Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or private security is highly desirable Demonstrated knowledge of physical security practices, including heavy lifting and manual handling when necessary Proficiency in operating security technology such as CCTV systems, access control systems, Taser devices, and firearm handling (where legally permitted) Training or certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures is highly desirable Experience in incident report writing with attention to detail and clarity Ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough security assessments in compliance with regulations Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to manage conflicts effectively in a school setting This role is vital in creating a secure learning environment where students can thrive.
