Job Description

The opportunity Delaware North Gaming is searching for full-time and part-time Backside Security Guards to join our team at Mardi Gras Casino in Cross Lanes, West Virginia . As Backside Security team members, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the security, safety, and welfare of animals housed within the kennel facility. This position provides continuous on-site observation, performs routine welfare checks, monitors facility access, and promptly reports emergencies or unusual conditions to Security Leadership and other designated personnel. The Kennel Guard is a non-sworn, non-security enforcement position and is not responsible for conducting investigations, responding to complex incidents, or performing traditional security officer functions. Set Schedule, Full Time or Part Time available. Days, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned. Position may be required to work overtime based on operational needs. What will you do? Maintain continuous observation of the kennel facility and surrounding area. Conduct routine animal welfare checks throughout assigned shift. Monitor kennel access points and report unauthorized entry or suspicious activity. Ensure kennel gates, doors, and fences remain secure. Observe and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or facility issues. Document incidents, observations, and activities in required logs. Contact Security Management as required during emergencies. Assist with emergency evacuations or animal relocations under management direction. Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with guests, vendors, and employees. Perform other related duties as assigned. More about you High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout assigned shift. Basic computer skills. Ability to successfully pass all required background screenings Physical requirements Ability to remain standing or walking for extended periods. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to climb stairs and traverse kennel grounds as necessary.
