Equine Safety Compliance Control Keeneland Association Inc Lexington, KY Job Details Full-time $20 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications CCTV system operation (AV) Driver's License Full Job Description Performs necessary duties as assigned during racing and sales as well as throughout calendar year assigned by the KEE Vice President of Equine Safety in coordination with the KEE Equine Safety and Compliance Lead. Does not have authority to carry a firearm .
Duties:
The Equine Safety Compliance & Control Associate role encompasses many tasks throughout each calendar year to include, but not limited to, the following: Real time observation and surveillance on grounds at both Keeneland and The Thoroughbred Center to monitor horse and trainer activities. Active monitoring of racetrack surfaces and all participants, equine and human, during racing and training activities for safety compliance Active participation in population documentation and validation of equine census in stabling areas at both locations (KEE and TTC) in cooperation with stable office and management teams Viewing live horse barn surveillance camera footage, and reviewing previously recorded footage Monitoring and oversight during sales of equine activities associated with safe transfer and movement throughout the KEE Sales Grounds to include barn areas, stable crossings, stable office and alternate chute locations, roadways, and sales pavilion associated surroundings Active role and participation of equine monitoring for biosecurity compliance Observation and documentation of any potential violations of regulatory compliance in keeping with the rules of racing and training (HISA and KHRCG) and potential integrity violations (environmental contamination of premises, inadvertent or intentional access violations, etc.) Alert Security Patrol Officers, in conjunction with the Vice President of Equine Safety, of any observations in barn areas to wit: when a blatant violation is observed a situation is observed requiring further clarity patrol response a hazard or danger to a horse (to include mistreatment of horses), or to the barn environment a barn rule is violated inappropriate behavior is observed amongst barn workers Assisting the Vice President of Equine Safety in coordination of duties with Equine Safety and Compliance Lead in all aspects of equine and human safety initiatives, as needed and identified May be tasked with additional surveillance responsibilities throughout calendar year Thoroughly document activities conducted, areas of concern, and report as appropriate Working closely with stable office staff at both KEE and TTC in maintaining compliance with documented health records and vaccination requirements as stipulated by KEE shipping protocols
Minimum Requirements:
Must have the ability to read and write, and efficiently navigate PC and Camera software Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification preferred Applicant must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work varying hours throughout calendar year with minimal advanced notice Possess good verbal communication skills and be capable of interacting positively with others. Must agree to abide by the Drug Free Workplace policy of Keeneland
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess Kentucky Driver's License, and be able to attain a Kentucky Horse Racing License, (Keeneland shall provide).
