The Prince George's County Office of Human Rights is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill an Investigator I , grade G18 position, in the Administration Investigations Division . About the Position This is entry-level professional inspectional and investigative work designed to evaluate, prepare, process, and defend complaints/cases of criminal, unfair, deceptive practices, and violations of County, State, and Federal laws administered by the agency to which assigned. Incumbents are responsible for generating accurate, complete, and comprehensive information required to investigate complaints or to prepare cases for judicial action/consideration. This position requires the performance of the duties normally contemplated for this class under the general supervision of a higher-level professional. Primary responsibilities include investigative work enforcing discrimination laws and policies in accordance with Title VII, Title VIII, Title I of ADA, ADEA, Division 12 of the Prince George's County Code, and other applicable laws and statutes. About the Agency The Prince George's County Office of Human Rights is committed to the pursuit of justice for those harmed by discriminatory behavior, predatory acts, and denial of services through thorough investigations; a cohesive response to human trafficking through its Human Trafficking Division; enforcement of language access to equal government services for all; and robust education and outreach to build community and to reduce incidents of hate, bias, and violence. Conduct Investigations Outreach/Training based on anti-discrimination laws Oral & written communication Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in programs involving investigative and social relations skills such as criminology, law enforcement, business, or public administration, one of the social sciences or related fields. A valid Maryland State driver's license is required upon appointment. Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered.

Conditions of Employment :
