HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT'S VISION
The State of Missouri's Department of Revenue, Compliance & Investigation Bureau is seeking an experienced investigator who is self-motivated and focused on identifying fraud and enforcing Missouri's revenue and motor vehicle laws. The Compliance & Investigation Bureau is part of the Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing Division and is overseen by a Chief Administrator and Special Agent in Charge. DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT'S VISION
This description may not include all the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this title. Directs and/or conducts investigations of suspected violations and incidents that occur within the field of fraud, relating to the Department of Revenue; interviews, or directs the interview of staff, victims, suspects, and witnesses to obtain verbal and written statements; obtains evidence and ensures adherence to the chain of custody standards, as well as maintaining proper measures of custodial control. Locates and interviews individuals and representatives of business or governmental entities to obtain evidence of suspected violations or diversion efforts. Ensures compliance and initiates enforcement of state statutes and regulations regarding motor vehicle dealers, marine dealers, salvage businesses, towing companies, and contracted DMV license offices. Serves as a liaison with internal staff, law enforcement agencies, prosecuting attorneys' offices, and other governmental entities, and other partners when conducting investigative and surveillance activities to ensure that the appropriate results are obtained. Administers instructive courses to other external law enforcement agencies on the roles and responsibilities of the Department of Revenue. Compiles, analyzes, evaluates, and preserves facts, statements, affidavits, and other evidence for use in legal actions, and prepares detailed reports of the investigative findings. Conducts confidential internal investigations of staff in situations which may involve theft, misfeasance, and malfeasance of state funds, or abuse of programs or policies. Examines and analyzes a variety of records to secure information concerning suspected violations of federal, state and local laws and/or regulations. Prepares and issues subpoenas. Testifies in criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings. Exercises independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities; receives general administrative direction. Performs other related work as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a current Missouri Peace Officer License, in good standing Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency Computer literate with a good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite Ability to write well written reports with proper grammar and spelling Prior investigative or auditing experience in financial or resources investigations, civil, administrative, or criminal investigative experience (e.g. tax fraud, business licensing, ID fraud, etc.); or as a law enforcement officer
Preferred:
