Job Description

We are seeking a Fraud Analyst to join our team! This role will be responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of fraud policies and procedures. This individual will analyze and review a broad range of financial data, including alerts, transactions, transfers, and payments to uncover potentially fraudulent activity. It is a wonderful opportunity to help protect the bank and its customers.
Essential Duties:
Collect and analyze large volumes of financial data for potential fraud using reports, systems and software available. Recognize patterns of fraud and suggest new methods of detection, mitigation, and prevention. Report fraudulent activity and provide supporting documentation to supervisors for investigation purposes. Perform a variety of complex and specialized tasks associated with identifying suspected deposit fraud, counterfeit checks, and other potential fraud related transactions. Work directly with both internal and external contacts, and/or other banks researching, investigating and collecting documentation. Send appropriate required notices to account holders with fraudulent activity and/or make phone calls to communicate the progress. Review new and existing accounts for signs of potential fraud. Review mobile, ATM, and other incoming deposits to determine whether preventive measures are warranted based on account risk and activity. Make outbound calls, when necessary, place holds and recommend closure if appropriate. Perform other duties as required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' banking experience (required) with 2 years in fraud/loss prevention preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Fraud certification (such as CFE, CFCS, etc) or the ability to obtain within two years. Basic understanding of certain regulatory requirements associated with fraud mitigation activities, such as Bank Secrecy Act, Uniform Commercial Code, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Gram-Leach-Bliley. Experience with fraud detection and BSA software and tools. Experience with Verafin a plus. Here at Bank of Bird-in-Hand, we have a comprehensive benefit package for those who qualify.
