Potential North Carolina Lead Investigator and Regional Leadership Opportunities Position Overview Blue Falcons Investigation is expanding its North Carolina operations and is seeking an experienced Private Investigator to handle assignments throughout Fayetteville and the surrounding area. Assignments may include surveillance, infidelity investigations, child custody investigations, cohabitation investigations, criminal defense investigations, civil investigations, witness interviews, locates and skip tracing, background investigations, attorney-directed investigations, activity checks, photographic and video documentation, evidence and document collection, process service associated with investigative assignments, and other lawful investigative services. Investigators must be capable of working independently and exercising sound professional judgment in the field. Blue Falcons Investigation will provide the objective and authorized scope of each assignment. The investigator is expected to understand that objective and determine the appropriate lawful investigative approach necessary to accomplish it. Primary Responsibilities Investigators may be responsible for conducting stationary and mobile surveillance, maintaining discretion while documenting subject activity, capturing photographs and video, conducting interviews, researching individuals and records, preparing detailed investigative reports, maintaining accurate case notes and time records, properly documenting and preserving evidence, communicating significant developments, meeting deadlines, testifying when necessary, and maintaining strict confidentiality. Surveillance Expectations Applicants must be comfortable conducting extended surveillance assignments involving early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, holidays, mobile surveillance, daytime and nighttime operations, rapidly changing case schedules, sitting in a vehicle for extended periods, and extended periods with little or no subject activity. Professional surveillance requires patience, discipline, situational awareness, attention to detail, discretion, and sound decision-making. Investigative reports must clearly distinguish between what was actually observed, what was reported by another individual, and what may only be suspected. Report Writing Strong investigative report-writing ability is required. Reports must be accurate, objective, detailed, professional, chronological when appropriate, supported by observations or evidence, and suitable for review by clients, attorneys, and potentially the court. Reports must not contain unsupported conclusions, exaggerations, speculation presented as fact, or unnecessary personal opinions.
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must:
Be willing and able to pass a background check Have at least two years of investigative experience Be legally eligible to perform private investigative work in North Carolina Maintain all applicable North Carolina licensing and registration requirements Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Have a reliable smartphone Have access to a computer and reliable internet Be capable of conducting surveillance independently Possess strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate strong attention to detail and professional judgment Maintain strict confidentiality Be capable of producing quality photographs and video Work effectively without constant supervision Be willing and able to testify in court when necessary Applicants must also satisfy any background, licensing, registration, insurance, or qualification requirements applicable to the position. Preferred Experience Preference may be given to applicants with professional experience involving private investigations, criminal investigations, surveillance, domestic investigations, child custody and cohabitation investigations, criminal defense, civil investigations, fraud, insurance investigations, witness interviews, locates, intelligence or military investigations, court testimony, and professional investigative report writing. Prior law enforcement or military experience is welcomed but not required . Professional Expectations & Confidentiality Investigators representing Blue Falcons Investigation are expected to be truthful, ethical, dependable, and professional. Investigators must protect confidential information, follow applicable laws and licensing requirements, maintain accurate billing and time records, meet deadlines, report significant developments, avoid conflicts of interest, and properly maintain investigative documentation. Falsification of reports, investigative hours, expenses, evidence, photographs, video, or investigative activity will not be tolerated. Case information may not be disclosed to unauthorized individuals or discussed on social media, online forums, investigator groups, personal websites, or other unauthorized platforms. Confidentiality continues after the working relationship has ended. Opportunity for Growth Blue Falcons Investigation is expanding its North Carolina operations and is interested in developing investigators who can take on greater responsibility as the company's caseload and geographic coverage grow. Investigators who consistently demonstrate strong performance may be considered for North Carolina Lead Investigator or Regional Leadership opportunities . Advancement will be based on investigative ability, reliability, integrity, report quality, professional judgment, communication, client service, ability to handle complex investigations, ability to coordinate cases, ability to work effectively with attorneys, leadership ability, and knowledge of the Fayetteville market. Potential leadership responsibilities may include coordinating North Carolina assignments, reviewing investigative reports, assisting with case logistics, supporting other investigators, helping onboard investigators, and developing professional relationships within the Fayetteville market. Ideal Candidate We are looking for investigators who do not require constant supervision. The ideal investigator can receive the objective of a case, understand the assignment, ask appropriate questions when necessary, develop a lawful investigative approach, conduct the investigation professionally, document what occurred, and produce a report that can withstand scrutiny. We are not looking for someone who simply wants to accumulate hours. We are looking for investigators who understand that the objective is to obtain useful, lawful, well-documented information for the client. Professional judgment matters. Reliability matters. Report quality matters. Results matter.
