JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Surveillance is responsible for the strategic leadership and day‑to‑day oversight of all surveillance operations within the casino, ensuring the integrity of gaming activities, protection of assets, and safety of guests and employees. This role directs the design, operation, and continuous improvement of surveillance systems and investigative programs in compliance with all applicable gaming regulations, internal controls, and privacy laws.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

Direct and oversee all surveillance department operations and personnel. Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate surveillance staff. Develop departmental goals, policies, procedures, and performance standards. Create staffing schedules and manage departmental budgets. Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and professionalism. Ensure continuous monitoring of all gaming areas, cash handling locations, and other critical casino operations. Oversee the use and maintenance of surveillance technologies, including CCTV, digital recording systems, and analytics tools. Ensure proper documentation and retention of surveillance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Review surveillance coverage plans and identify operational vulnerabilities. Direct investigations involving theft, fraud, cheating, policy violations, employee misconduct, and suspicious activities. Coordinate with Security, Human Resources, Audit, Compliance, and Gaming Operations departments during investigations. Analyze incidents and develop recommendations to reduce operational risk. Prepare detailed investigative reports and case documentation. Ensure compliance with all local, state, tribal, and federal gaming regulations. Serve as a primary liaison with gaming regulatory agencies and law enforcement. Maintain surveillance operating procedures consistent with gaming commission requirements. Support regulatory audits and inspections. Evaluate, recommend, and implement new surveillance technologies. Manage surveillance system upgrades, maintenance, and vendor relationships. Ensure system functionality, reliability, and cybersecurity controls. Monitor trends related to fraud, loss prevention, and operational risks. Generate and present reports to executive leadership. Use surveillance data and analytics to improve security and operational effectiveness. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for department performance.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY WHAT YOU WILL NEED A

bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent years of experience required. Minimum of five to seven years' experience in security/law enforcement and investigations with at least five years supervisory/management capacity preferred. Command level supervisory experience (administration, organization, leadership, and investigatory skills) in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or Regulatory Compliance or related industry experience preferred. Experience with and a working knowledge of casino surveillance operations is preferred. Must have proven business, financial, budgetary and project management skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to prioritize, direct, and monitor multiple tasks and assignments. Ability to quickly identify or anticipate potential problems and recommend solutions for variables that can impact property operations. Ability to analyze problems and apply logical/cost effective solutions. Must have the ability to work in highly regulated environment and possess the ability to develop outstanding relationships with peers, senior management, and regulators. Some travel may be required. Fluent on Microsoft Office software products Viewed as an outstanding team player. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Key Gaming License from the VA Lottery. Must be at least 21 years of age or older

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and stack. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be fluent and literate in English. Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when required. Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, secondhand smoke and air quality. Salary Range - $100,000 - $130,000 Salary based on experience, skill set, knowledge and/or education.
