Contribute directly to safeguarding national security by joining our team as a Security Specialist at the DIA's Central Processing Center. In this crucial role, you'll utilize your expertise and sound judgement to conduct national agency checks, manage sensitive cases, and prepare comprehensive materials for adjudicative review. On-Site:
This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM at Reston, Virginia.
Responsibilities:
Using judgement and experience to conduct and or/collect national agency checks to complete investigations for adjudicative review National agency checks may consist of investigations, incident reports, continuous evaluation, continuous vetting, and T5R background investigations Creating, managing, and closing cases in appropriate security systems of record Utilizing Scattered Castles, NBIS, CATS, NCIC, Sli, NP2 Portal, eQIP, JPAS, JVS, DCII, and CVS; initiating and scoping Determining security case completion and preparation for adjudication to include coordinating with other offices Determining the need for additional investigative information
Qualifications:
TS/SCI clearance with a CI poly Associate's Degree in Security Management, Personnel Security, or Business A combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree 3+ years of relevant experience Personnel security experience including: SF-86 initiation and review, background investigation initiation and review, security adjudications, understanding of reciprocity and ability to complete reciprocity cases Experience with suitability and/or fitness adjudications An understanding of the difference between suitability determinations and security clearance determinations Experience crafting analysis of data gathered Administrative skills for professional writing, correspondence, and communication via email, phone, and in person Experience in customer relations Ability to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment
