Lead Baker

The purpose of the Lead Baker position is to prepare and coordinate the preparation of desserts and baked goods according to established recipes, customer requests, or special instructions. Lead Baker starts at $26.87/hr and increases to $28.66/hr following successful completion of our 90-day orientation period.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assists in providing direction, training, orientation, and development of the casino Bakers. Provides feedback regarding performance for evaluation and discipline purposes. Assists in the oversight and preparation of all baked goods for restaurants, buffets, and banquets. Ensures that all baked goods for banquet orders are prepared according to the requirements of the contract. Prepares all baked goods according to recipe instructions and established procedures and practices. Ensures all baked goods meet quality standards for guest satisfaction. Performs work assignments in a timely and efficient manner. Performs routine cleaning and organizing of walk-ins and storage areas ensuring proper storage and rotation of products. Maintains a clean and organized work area following established health and safety codes and guidelines. Uses a degree of creativity and latitude in preparing desserts and baked goods. Assists with banquet menu preparation, supply orders and product inventory. Communicates frequently with all kitchen staff to ensure proper timing of bakery items needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Two years of culinary training required. Three or more years' bakery, banquet, buffet, or catering experience preferred. Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays All applicants must obtain a Class III B license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. However, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the position requires driving a company vehicle.
