Lead Carpenter - Foreman Position 402 Industrial Drive, Columbus, WI 53925
Full-time Full-time Job Summary:
We are a growing Commercial General Contractor looking for an experienced carpenter who is ready to take the next step in their career. This is not just another carpenter position. We are building our in-house framing crew from the ground up and are looking for the right person to help lead it. If you've spent years in the field, know how to get work done the right way, and are ready for more responsibility while still staying hands-on, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. You'll work alongside ownership and project leadership to help establish crew standards, improve operations, mentor team members, and take ownership of projects from layout to completion. This role is ideal for someone who: Takes pride in quality workmanship Naturally leads others on the jobsite Wants more say in how projects are run Is looking for long-term growth and advancement Still enjoys working with their tools and being in the field As the company grows, this position can grow into future leadership opportunities including: Job Site Superintendent Project Superintendent Project Manager What You'll Do Lead daily framing and carpentry operations on commercial projects Work hands-on alongside crew members while providing direction and leadership Help build and develop a strong in-house framing team Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients Maintain jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations Troubleshoot field issues and help solve problems efficiently Train and mentor less experienced carpenters Operate and maintain hand and power tools Work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Candidate Requirements :
Strong framing and general carpentry experience Leadership ability and willingness to take ownership Good problem-solving and decision-making skills Understanding of commercial construction methods and multiple trades Ability to read plans and perform construction layout Solid math and measurement skills Experience maintaining quality standards and jobsite safety Strong communication skills with coworkers, subcontractors, and customers Self-motivated and dependable Experience in the following is helpful: Demolition, framing, basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing coordination, drywall installation and finishing, finish carpentry and trim work, doors, windows, and siding, flooring, painting, and general interior finishes
Other Requirements:
Must have own basic carpentry tools Driver's License is Required Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical construction work daily Travel may be required at times. We try and structure it, so we are home weekends when travel is required
