Job Description
Overview Summary:
Lays out, rigs up, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies oilfield production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, such as computer equipment, data acquisition instrumentation, flow tubes, densitometers, pressure transducers, test equipment, and other various hydraulic fracturing machinery and controls, applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, as well as leading, directing and training teams of Electronics Technicians on location.Responsibilities Essential Duties:
Manipulates Data Van control software at advanced level to perform installation, configuration, and remote usage and pull and analyze log data files and configuration files from Data Van or other unit. Maintains computer systems including software and hardware updates. Completes preventative maintenance and visual inspections using established procedures, preventative maintenance forms, and reporting media. Manages inventory of repair parts, ready spares and consumables for the department. Coordinates with other disciplines at the yard to complete work requests and troubleshoot and upgrade equipment. Coordinates with Supervisor, Field, Field Coordinator and Operations Coordinator regarding equipment status, emergency repairs and best practices of equipment usage. Communicates equipment status details and directions effectively to Supervisor, Electronics and Supervisor, Maintenance. Maintains daily work logs, paperwork requirements, and work orders as required. Writes equipment trouble reports, tracks issues and develops solutions for solving equipment problems. Maintains an advanced knowledge of circuits, systems and components utilized on the fracturing equipment. Trains and assists Electronics personnel on location with regards to equipment capabilities and usage to include Data Van software. Provides mentoring, direction and training for subordinate Electronics Technicians. Assists the Supervisor, Electronics in scheduling shop and field work. Preforms job functions of Supervisor, Electronics as required. Acts as Electronics Technician I and Electronics Technician II. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises nine employees in the Fracturing department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge and/or training of computer networking and servers is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Other Skills and Abilities Professional, clear verbal and written communication.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including long and/or irregular hours.
Ability to travel to jobs in remote locations.
Ability to read equipment prints and schematics to perform competent troubleshooting.
Other Qualifications:
Two- five years of experience in maintenance and repair of instrumentation, such as: flow meters, transducers, densitometers and controllers. Must be accessible by telephone and able to be on 24-hour call. Knowledge of electronic test equipment and various tools. Knowledge of mechanical and/or hydraulic systems is preferred.Physical Demands :
